[…]Global electricity consumption will fall this year for the first time since 1945, according to a dramatic portrait of the effects of the slowdown in developed and emerging economies from the International Energy Agency.
The watchdog for developed energy consuming countries will tell energy ministers from the group of eight leading economies on Sunday that electricity demand will fall by 3.5 per cent in 2009.
In China, where power use is seen as a more reliable barometer of economic activity than official economic measures, consumption will be more than 2 per cent lower than 2008.
Russia will see a fall of almost 10 per cent, while countries in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development will see a fall of almost 5 per cent.
Three-quarters of the global decline in consumption is accounted for by industrial demand, reflecting the fall in China’s manufacturing-heavy economy. Consumption in India, by contrast, is expected to increase by 1 per cent.[…]
Per la prima volta dal 1945 la domanda di elettricità mondiale cala.
Si prevede un -3.5% nel 2009 rispetto al 2008 :
-2% in Cina
-10% in Russia
-5% nell’OCDE
In controtendenza solamente l’India con +1% circa.
Riguardo la caduta del PIL nel primo trimestre 2009 :
Il Messico nei primi tre mesi (nota bene : prima dell’effetto dell’aviaria) è calato del -8.2% come PIL.
Finora è il record mondiale.
In buona compagnia : Ucraina, Lituania, Estonia hanno un calo molto simile.
Poi ci sono Russia -8%, Giappone -5%, Irlanda, Singapore e Hong Kong -4% circa, Germania -3.8%.
E questi sono valori per il primo trimestre, anche se i dati dei trimestri successivi saranno migliori il risultato finale è in ogni caso orribile.
