The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp said it immediately transferred New Frontier’s insured deposits to the Deposit Insurance National Bank of Greeley (DINB), except for brokered deposits, certificates of deposit and individual retirement accounts.
The Deposit Insurance National Bank will remain open for about 30 days so customers can move their funds to other banks.[…]

Io qualche dubbio ce l’ho.
Ricordo che le nuove stime del Fondo Monetario Internazionale arrivano fino a 4 mila miliardi di $$ riguardanti asset tossici nelle casse delle banche.
Ma in realtà non lo sanno nemmeno loro , la cifra è al momento inquantificabile, altro che molto sovrastimata.
Il Fondo a gennaio aveva stimato che il deterioramento degli asset americani raggiungesse i 2.200 miliardi entro la fine dell’anno.
Ma questa cifra dovrebbe salire a 3.100 miliardi, a cui dovrebbero aggiungersi i 900 miliardi di dollari di asset tossici in Europa e in Asia, anch’essi stimati in rialzo.
Ed in Europa sono ancora molto, molto al di sotto del valore reale.
Che succederà ?
I problemi ben presto passeranno agli stati, e quelli più in crisi profonda ci lasceranno le penne, con risvolti drammatici per le popolazioni locali.
